Emily Bronte
Emily Bronte (1818-1848) didn't just write the classic novel -- Wuthering Heights. British lit ran in her blood as she was part of the well-penned Bronte sisters. Her younger sister Anne was a capable scribe though it was her older sibling Charlotte that set the literary benchmark for female British authors with her epic Jane Eyre.
